Oops....

THIS JUST IN!

Cast iron skillets and dishwashers don't mix.  Derp.

Everything's fine now after a scrub with oil and salt.

    Been there, done that!
    Don't worry about it...cast iron can survive a lot of abuse!

    We wash our cast iron about once a year in the dishwasher. It kind of puts them back to the 'new default setting'. Then re-season them for a fresh start.
